AESUS Design Group is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business founded in March of 2014 by Orlando Gonzales and David Combs. Since then, AESUS has grown from David and Orlando to 12 employees. Our firm is licensed to work on Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical projects in the US and Canada. We have expertise working with a multitude of project types, including commercial, hospitality, industrial, and healthcare. In particular we have specialized expertise working on Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC) across the country. Since the inception of our firm, we have designed projects on numerous VAMCs and Indian Health Services (IHS) campuses across the country including: Phoenix, AZ; Prescott, AZ; Mather, CA; Stockton, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Spokane, WA; Albuquerque, NM; Ft. Harrison, MT; Bonham, TX; Boise, ID; Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Orlando, FL; West Palm Beach, FL; Lake Nona, FL; Lake Baldwin, FL; Bay Pines, FL. These projects include architecture, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection design.

Orlando Gonzales, PE, LEED AP, CEM, GGP
Orlando Gonzales is a registered mechanical engineer in multiple states across the United States. He has experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler design for new construction and renovation projects for a variety of building types. These projects include Industrial Buildings, Healthcare Facilities, Religious Facilities, Historic Theatres and Performing Arts Centers, Data Centers, Commercial Buildings, and Educational Facilities.
Mr. Gonzales’ experience includes: chilled and heating water central plant design with heat recovery; constant and variable pumping systems; constant and variable air distribution systems including under-floor air distribution systems, computer room systems, and displacement ventilation; chilled and condenser water piping systems; variable refrigerant flow; laboratory exhaust systems and control; plumbing and fire protection systems; process piping systems; energy modeling and economic analysis for the purpose of LEED submittals.
David Combs, AIA, NCARB
David Combs is a registered architect in multiple states across the United States and Canada. He has diverse professional experience spanning the entire spectrum of the construction and the design industry. In addition to a professional architectural degree from Ball State University and 15 years of licensed architectural experience, he has 15 years of work with general contracting that has contributed to his outstanding attention to detail and functionality. David offers great team and leadership skills, along with a very energetic work ethic to meet heightened challenges. His background allows him to guide projects from schematic design to final construction documents and through construction administration.
While Mr. Combs’ primary focus has been Healthcare design and Industrial design, he has experience in multiple building types including; medical office buildings (MOB), corporate office, retail, veterinarian clinics, hotels, theatre, multi- and single-family residences. As a project manager and principal, David has successfully taken hundreds of projects from concept to completion while maintaining a successful working relationship with clients, contractors, and consultants.
